Travel tip
Palm Springs was once home to the most swimming pools in the U.S. It is now home to more golf courses per square kilometre than almost anywhere else in the world. In Palm Springs, rest, relaxation and recreation are the order of the day – every day.
San Diego
Aside from its world-renowned harbour and fantastic water sports options, San Diego is probably best known for its golf courses. Golf is one of the most popular pastimes here and there are more than 90 golf courses in San Diego County to choose from. There are also plenty of family-friendly attractions to enjoy here, including SeaWorld San Diego, LEGOLAND California, Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo. Couples enjoy relaxing on the sun-kissed shores or strolling the boardwalks
of Pacific Beach. Whether you come to laze around during its sun- warmed winters or to sip white wine on summer patios next to the beach San Diego is hard not to love, no matter what kind of vacation you are looking for.
San Francisco
San Francisco is blessed with great food, beautiful scenery and high culture. In one day, you can surf below the Golden Gate Bridge, browse
a dozen bookstores and taste food that drives culinary conversations nationwide. In the heart of San Francisco is an ultramodern city with skyscrapers, a symphony (San Francisco Symphony), a ballet (San Francisco Ballet) and posh restaurants. Venture beyond the city centre, and you’ll find vibrant ethnic enclaves like Chinatown. Move further out of the city and you’ll encounter ancient redwood forests or enjoy wine tours of the lush vineyards of Napa Valley. All the while, you are never far from the sparkling Pacific Ocean.
