WestJet Vacations flies with RadonicRodgers
CALGARY • WestJet’s newest expansion now offers tour packages to the travel industry. WestJet Vacations, operating under their parent company, is offering more than 40 destinations in North America and the Caribbean. When it came time to produce their very first WestJet Vacations brochure, they contacted RadonicRodgers as a potential supplier they wished to align themselves with.
RadonicRodgers was short-listed due to extensive travel experience, award-winning design, one-stop-solution, printing and project management, but also for their experience in producing gigantic brochures within very tight time lines. RadonicRodgers has produced travel brochures nearly 300 pages in size, with press runs approaching a million copies. “We have never missed a promised deadline in 10 years of business”, states Edward Radonic, Managing Partner.
The client brief
WestJet Vacations required a new design that applied the existing and very successful WestJet brand. Coupled with the design development, all 180 pages were to be formatted in tandem with the WJV market- ing/product team for two brochure versions—western and eastern Canada editions. The print run was to be in the hundreds of thousands of copies with delivery across Canada.
WestJet Vacations spoke to many design, marketing and printing firms. The time line estimates from these firms for completion ranged from 4 to 8 months. RadonicRodgers offered the best value and guaranteed completion within an 8-10 week period including design, layout, printing and delivery across the country.
In working closely while diving right into
the brand and culture of WestJet, the two firms realized that they were very similar in more than one way. Both RadonicRodgers and WestJet are PROFIT 100 companies, achieving listings as two of Canada’s fastest-growing companies. Looking at WestJet’s values, we found many similarities to our own corporate culture, such as:
